I've just cleared out a garden shed that came with the 25 year old house we recently bought. It was astonishing to see all the half-used bottles of insecticides and herbicides lurking in there. It really wasn't that long ago that killing ALL the bugs and weeds was a "thing" in gardening. We really have come a long way. (I'm also very grateful my local recycling depot could deal with it all responsibly, I had zero idea what to do with it all).
No kidding hey? it's amazing to think of all of the things that we've normalized over the years, including chemicals that were touted as miracle cures for pests and weeds. Thank goodness that things are changing and we're less likely as consumers to follow without questioning. :)
Yes! It’s a brilliant design system, especially for larger public parks and areas. Providing heaps of beauty and habitat without using a lot of resources 💚🙌🏽
Yes, ideas don't really stick and spread unless they're easy to remember and somehow capable of shifting old habits.. Around my neighbourhood they're mostly stuck in the "no mulch, exposed soil" between plants mentality. A lot of it is age, there's a greater than average number of riterees arond here.

Like the Naturalistic Plant Design movement. After many years start now to become public recognised.
